There are a dozen or so cosmetic and beauty related panels backed by some of the major beauty product manufacturers and companies out there that will actually send you stuff for free to test.
The reason they do that is simple…
They want feedback from real consumers who actually use their products.
Your feedback helps them develop new products or come up with new and improved ones, ultimately helping their bottom line.
So while it may seem like companies like L’Oréal are losing money by giving away free makeup and other health and beauty related products to product testers, they are actually making more money in the long run.
It is the exact reason why online survey sites that pay you for sharing your opinion.
Direct feedback from consumers is priceless for companies.
It’s easy really.
Sign up for one or all of the sites mentioned below, fill out our profile information so they know your demographics which they can use to send you appropriate items.
Whenever there is a product testing opportunity that matches you and your profile, they’ll send you the item for free to use/test.
Some of these companies may have you fill out a questioner after a few weeks of use to find out about your experience and what you thought of the product(s).
So not only you get free stuff, you also have the chance to have an impact on products you use in your daily life.
A lot of our readers have been asking us about Sephora (and Maybelline) and whether they have a product testing panel.
The answer is no!

BzzAgent.com is a website that is set up specifically for people who want to try out services or products, and share their opinions.
They ask you to start by filling out a survey, so that they know what you are interested in.
The website shares all sorts of goods, not just beauty products.
The name says it all!
This website even has an online TV channel, but it’s basically set up for you to post your product reviews about all sorts of items, including books, food, Crayola crayons, movies, and electronics, as well as beauty items.
There is an active blog, and if you are a regular participant they will send you samples.
The homepage claims there are 700,000 Smiley members, who are all “among the first to discover new brands, content and offers for free”.
Simply go to smiley360.com and you too can sign up to give your opinions and review products.
I talked about PINCHme in our “Amazon review sites to get free amazon products” post. When you sign up for PinchMe, you fill out a questionnaire about your household and your shopping habits.
Every few weeks they send out new samples, and if you login at the specified time you can request some.
Your only obligation is to provide a simple review after you use them.
This is a different idea. It’s not limited to beauty products, but a wide range, including beer.
Parties are hosted by members, and you too can host a party and get sent the products in a Party Pack. Parties for the same products or sponsors are hosted across the nation at the same time.
When you are done, you write about it and perhaps send some photographs.
Finally, a more specialized product review panel. If you home school, you should have heard of the site, HomeSchool.com, which is a resource for parents.
Sometimes they need product testers for homeschooling items, and if you connect with them, you may be able to test and review applicable goods.
This is a site where you tell them what kind of product you are interested in and they send you those products for free.
The only catch here is that you have to review the stuff you get (mainly on Amazon).
They don’t seem to have a website, instead they use Facebook as their main page.
You have to fill out a short form to apply and if you are accepted, you will get cosmetics and beauty products to test for free.
